Old Caz is the quintessential Hopper. With three dirt climbs and descents, an eclectic patchwork of Sonoma County ribbon roads and a creek crossing,Old Caz is the epitome of adventure riding.

Join us for a NorCal mixed-terrain adventure like never before. On this “beyond-epic” Hopper you will be treated to some of the best pavĆ© and remote public dirt/gravel roads in the area.

Sherwood Adventure

Genius or crazy? Maybe a bit of both. This special route combines 18 miles of scenic Coast Hwy 1 from Fort Bragg to Westport. Then we head east on Branscombe to Laytonville, 4 miles of Hwy 101 and then 35 miles of dirt and gravel back to Fort Bragg.

Route:Ā

You can’t ride Sherwood Rd without going big. It’s close to 40 miles from Willits to Fort Bragg…one way. This means you either ride one direction on Hwy 20, you do an “out and back” or you do it a’la Hopper and ride Fort Bragg to Westport and then Branscombe Rd. to Laytonville.Ā

We’ve had this killer loop in the docket for years. Due to the fact that we are unable to ride the Jackson Forest section we are stoked to slot this ride in its place. There’s more pave than Jackson but trust me, it’s one of the best loops you can do on the north coast.

What to Ride?:

This is a true mixed-terrain Hopper. It’s 18 miles from Fort Bragg to Westport on Hwy 1 and then 25 miles to Laytonville on amazingly smooth pavĆ© with nary a car to be seen. The 35 miles of gravel and dirt from Sherwood at Hwy 1 to Fort Bragg will have you grinning from ear to ear.Ā  It’s definitely a “grave/cross” bike route. I would not recommend anything smaller than 38c tires with some good side knobs.

Camping:Ā

There is lots of great comping in the Fort Bragg area but is not included in reg nor available at the start/finish. See below for options.

ā€œRest Stopsā€

There will be a fuel/hydration stop at mile 19 forĀ  and also at mile 57.
